Paul Reilly

The Honorable Paul Reilly (retired) was a trial lawyer for 16 years from 1987-2003, litigating cases in State and Federal trial and appellate courts, a Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge from 2003-2010, and a judge on the  Wisconsin Court of Appeals from 2010 until his retirement in 2022.  He presided over thousands of cases and conducted hundreds of court and jury trials while serving rotations in the Criminal, Civil and Family divisions in the trial court and personally authored more than 330 citable opinions/concurrences/dissents and sat on the panel of thousands of appellate cases while on the appellate court.  He served as the City Attorney of New Berlin for five years and had an active practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the civil courts. He is well versed in complex litigation, municipal, business, and real estate matters.  He had a “AV” rating while in private practice.   

Paul is a member of the Wisconsin Judicial Faculty (the body that educates judges in Wisconsin) and the Civil Jury Instruction Committee (2008-2020 – currently emeritus member).  He served on the Wisconsin Judicial Commission from 2010 to 2016 (Chair 2015), President of the Waukesha County Bar Association in 1994 and the Board of Governors for the State of Wisconsin from 1995 – 2000.
